Starting Gold and Equipment
Each player will start with the following amount of gold, to be used in any of the shops contained on this site.
Level 3: Normal Starting Gold, as contained in the Players Hand Book
Level 7: 750 gp, plus normal starting equipment
Level 11: 5,000 gp , two uncommon magic items, plus normal starting equipment
Merchant Rules
At the top of the “Shops & Finance” page, you will find a merchant reputation tracker. There will be a mechanic called “Economic Situation” that dictates whether you use the Expensive, Normal, or Cheap column when purchasing items.
The economic situation will be decided based on the events of the party. Some quests or events might create an advantageous climate for goods. For example, a surplus of goods or helping a merchant. Some quests or events might create a poor climate for goods. For example, a poor reputation or a shortage of goods.
A +3 or better will result in a cheap Economic Situation
-2 to +2 will result in a normal Economic Situation
-3 or worse will result in an expensive Economic Situation
After each game the counter will naturally move by 1 towards zero (normal Economic Situation). If the counter is already at zero, it will not move
Selling
If you would like to sell something in your inventory, you may sell it for half (rounded down) of what it is listed for in the store guide.
Note: Selling is also impacted by Economic Situation. When it is more expensive to buy goods, it is also more lucrative to sell them back.
