In the dimly lit alleys of Eventide’s Dock Ward, whispers spread like wildfire about the Shadowhand Clan, a
clandestine organization rumored to have infiltrated every level of society. Its enigmatic leader, known only as
“The Archon,” is said to be a master manipulator, using charm and cunning to bend others to their will.
One evening, as you sit in a crowded tavern, a hooded figure slips onto the stool beside you. The air around them
seems to vibrate with an aura of calm confidence, and the scent of expensive spices clings to their dark woolen
cloak.
“You’re looking for work,” they say, their voice low and soothing. “I might have something that interests you.”
A well-dressed figure, dressed in fine silks and jewels, enters the tavern, drawing admiring glances from the
patrons. The hooded individual gestures discreetly toward the merchant, who looks every bit the part of a wealthy
elite.
“Meet Marcellus Thorne,” the figure whispers. “He’s fallen behind on his protection payments.”
The merchant catches your eye and nods curtly before retreating into the shadows. The hooded individual leans in
closer.
“He believes that he can stop paying us and there won’t be any consequences. We are looking to collect, and need some entrepreneurial folks to procure a rare item in his collection. The item we’re after is called the Starheart Chalice. Thorne has it on display in his mansion, surrounded by ‘securitymeasures’ he thinks will deter us.”
The figure pushes back their hood, revealing a striking woman with piercing green eyes and jet-black hair.
“The Shadowhand Clan offers you a choice: steal the chalice and collect your reward. Or refuse, and… well, let’s
just say that refusing us won’t be as pleasant.”
She smiles, revealing a hint of mischief in her eyes.
“We have many connections in this city. Many who would love to see Thorne’s mansion ‘renovated.’ You’ll need to be
quick, clever, and deadly to succeed.”
